John 16:33 “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.” (NAS)

Today we take a break from a look at the Lord’s Prayer this week as the tragedy of Super Storm Sandy that hit the Upper East Coast of the United States. Millions of people have been affected, billions of dollars of damage, whole towns flooded or wiped completely off the map. A perfect example of tribulation in this world. Why does God allow these things to happen. The answer is simple, this world is not our home, this world is not heaven. But scripture says “be of take courage” because Jesus overcame this world and through him we can too.

Today pray for the people on the East Coast who are dealing with this storm. Pray for the families who have lost loved ones, their homes, their memories. Pray for those workers who are struggling to get the power back on and restore basic services. Pray for those who are still missing that they will be found safe and sound. Pray for a speedy recovery for the entire area. And Pray and ask God to show you what, if anything, you can do to help.
